Frequently asked questions

Find clear information about picking up firearms in Stewartstown, required background check documentation, custom machine work, NFA items, and shop appointments.

What services do you offer at TZ Gunworks?

We provide custom builds, gunsmithing, firearms and ammunition sales as well as FFL transfers. We are a SOT holder, allowing us to deal in NFA items such as suppressors, SBR's, SBS's and AOW's. We also draw upon over two decades of law enforcement firearms instructor experience to offer knowledgeable consultation, instruction and advice.

Can you do precision milling and custom barrel threading?

Unfortunately, we currently do not have the ability to cut and thread barrels or machine slides.

What are your operating hours and how do I schedule an appointment?

We operate flexibly by appointment to provide dedicated attention to each customer. To book a consultation, drop off a custom build, or pick up an order, simply call, text, or email us directly.

What do I need to bring for an in-person pick-up or FFL transfer?

You must bring a valid driver's license with your current physical address. If your driver's license does not display your current address, please bring an official supplemental document such as a property tax bill, utility bill, or vehicle registration showing your legal name and current address. If you hold a valid NH pistol permit, please bring it as well.

Is a New Hampshire pistol permit required to purchase or pick up a firearm?

No, a valid NH pistol permit is not required. However, presenting a valid NH pistol permit bypasses the background check requirement during the ATF Form 4473 process, creating a faster and smoother transaction.

Do I need to file a Form 4 for suppressors, SBRs, or SBSs?

No. Certain National Firearms Act (NFA) items, including suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), and short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), no longer require an ATF Form 4 and tax stamp prior to transfer. These may be transferred via ATF Form 4473 the same as any pistol, rifle or shotgun. This means you wait minutes instead of months and leave with your NFA item the same day!

How does shipping work for online firearm and suppressor purchases?

Under federal law, all firearms and suppressors ordered online cannot be delivered directly to your home address. They must be shipped to a licensed premises (our shop in Stewartstown, NH or your designated local FFL dealer) and legally transferred via ATF Form 4473.
